Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Seattle is in Washington, in the Pacific Northwest, where winters are mild and wet, summers are dry and pleasant, and outdoor recreation drives a lot of local business; hours change little through the year. Getting around Seattle is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Washington's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I have now purchased three anthuriums from Plantbaby and all three have been healthy, well rooted, and stunning. Itβs easy to coordinate pick up and a refreshing approach to the houseplant market in general. Highly recommend!

Plantbaby is a wonderful business! Being in property management, Iβve now worked with Jay for 3 separate resident events, all at different properties. They have all gone incredibly well and were very well received by residents! Jay and his team take such pride in their work and are incredibly knowledgeable, informative and kind. I would highly recommend bringing them onsite for planting workshops or other creative activities with residents. You will not be disappointed!

Bought a carnivorous sundew from this business at some holiday popup shop in December 2024. This was my favorite plant and was very easy and grew beautifully for months. He ate many fruit flies for us, and was very low maintenance as long as we kept water in the cup. Unfortunately it passed away while I was out of town for work and a housesitter didnt water it, but it was so easy to take care of until then. Lived almost a year, much longer than most "specialty" house plants I bought over the years. The person I spoke to at the plant sale was very friendly and gave clear instructions on how to keep the plant happy and healthy. 10/10 would recommend, planning to come buy plants from this business next time I am back in Seattle

The best experience Iβve ever had! Jay is very welcoming and quick to handle any request. I had to add different items to my order and had a bunch of questions, but Jay answered them patiently and promptly. Most importantly, the plants are beautiful and healthy!

Update: Absolutely impeccable - both the plants and the service. I've purchased three times now (an alocasia regal shields, alocasia black velvet and rhaphidophora tetrasperma) and am thoroughly impressed by the service and quality/health of the plants. I transferred two of them to Lechuza pon seamlessly, and one into moss (because it was a 2" baby) and they are all thriving. I've included photos of the original plants I received, as well as update photos (two of the plants I got 4 months ago, and one of them I got 2 months ago). The regal shields is now in a 14" pot (it started so tiny)! No issues with pests or disease. Plants I've gotten are very healthy and growing beautifully.
